New Incentive Makes Texas Propane Vehicles More Affordable

Texas businesses now have one more reason to use propane-powered vehicles in place of standard options that use petroleum. The Propane Council of Texas (ProCOT) recently announced that they will be offering a special inventive of up to $15,000 for businesses that upgrade their fleet with propane vehicles.

Details About the New ProCOT Incentive

The idea behind the new ProCOT incentive is that it will make the initial investment in propane vehicles more affordable for businesses. The hope is that once businesses experience the benefits of using a propane vehicle they will continue to expand their fleet with these more environmentally friendly vehicles. The benefits for businesses include:

  • Less wear and tear on engine components
  • Lower emissions
  • Improved fuel cost savings

The incentive offers $7,500 per vehicle, with a cap of $15,000 per private fleet. There are two ways that Texas businesses can qualify for the ProCOT incentive. Businesses can either purchase a propane vehicle or convert an existing vehicle to propane autogas. Businesses will also need to provide ProCOT with data on their current fleet.

For businesses that want to support Texas propane industries, using propane vehicles is a clearly superior choice. Around 66% of America’s propane is produced in Texas, which helps the local economy and lowers the overall eco footprint of this alternative fuel.

Business owners that would like more information on how they can take advantage of the new incentive program should visit the ProCOT website.
