Houston SuperShuttle Saves up to 60% on Fuel Using Propane
SuperShuttle’s Houston TX Propane Vehicles Save the Company 60% on Fuel
SuperShuttle is a nationwide airport transportation service that is currently established at over 40 airports. If you’ve flown into or out of Houston’s IAH or Hobby Airport in the last 20 months you may have seen their fleet shuttling people to and from their vehicles. But what you may not have realized is that the SuperShuttle fleet was using propane autogas.
SuperShuttle Houston is one of the latest locations to make the switch to propane autogas. The company began using this cleaner, cheaper alternative fuel in 2009 and has continuously expanded the program ever since. Thirty of the company’s 160 propane dedicated Ford E-350 vans are now in Houston.
There are several reasons why SuperShuttle decided to use the Houston TX propane vehicles instead of standard gasoline vehicles. In addition to reducing emissions, SuperShuttle says making the switch to propane-powered vehicles has saved the company 50-60% on fuel costs. Each van uses roughly 10,000 gallons of propane autogas each year so the savings are substantial. It is also easy to get propane refills in Houston. Today Houston businesses can refill at public stations, install their own on-site refueling station or use refill services from local providers like Pinnacle Propane.
